“Glaikit is a self portrait project exploring the use of Glaswegian slang language from my local area in Scotland. Glaikit is slang for being glazed over, detached, vacant. I’ve created an almost character, Nigel, (slang for someone alone) which I become in the images I create the images in camera by meticulously covering myself in the sprinkles and staging the shot.” — John Gribben
